New patient rooms based on architecural models were imported in to virtual reality, where in the end users got to test and review the functionality of the space during the design phase. This way we got to gather comprehensive user input and the users got to affect the end results in a concrete way.
Users got to move around the patient room, change the position of objects such as the patient bed, wheelchair, electrical sockets and patient panel. These changes could then be imported back to the designers as 3d models and thus the user input passed on to the designers. Even before anything concrete was built.
