Reality capture (rc) refers to the capturing of 3D models and materials out of all sorts of environments and objects. We at 3D Talo provide services in laser scanning, photogrammetry and 360-degree videos and photos. By utilizing these methods, we are able to digitalize furniture, buildings, manufacturing plants, landscapes, forests, urban areas, machines and HVAC-systems. The captured 3D material is then used for great variety of purposes.
Laser scanning, 3D Object Scanning, or Lidar, is a superior method in measuring. Scanning speeds up the processes and decreases the costs by laying accurate foundation for design and engineering. With Laser Scanning, the surroundings are digitalized in a simple and safe manner. We at 3D Talo use a Faro S120 laser scanner. Faro S120 uses controlled laser beams, with up to one million points per second, while taking the distance measures of its surroundings. The collected data is then used in creating a three-dimensional point cloud models, which are often converted to colored polygon mesh models.
Photogrammetry means the digitalization of environments by the use of digital photographs. The most well known way to achieve this is by the use of aerial photography, to create accurate maps of environments. We at 3D Talo do aerial photography with our DJI Phantom 4 drone. The collected material can be used in inside virtual reality, for example, by presenting construction projects with their actual surroundings.
360-degree photos and videos are used in visualization of different surroundings and objects. We at 3D Talo capture material both in the real and artificial environments. 360-degree photos and videos are used in marketing and all kinds of decision-making.
